ioreum Saju

Compute a saju / BaZi natal chart (Korean Four Pillars of Destiny) from a birth date, optional time, timezone and longitude. Returns the four pillars, the Day Master, the Five-Element distribution and the 60-gapja day character. Boundaries are handled to the minute: solar-term (jeolgi) year/month changes, true solar time from longitude, and the late-night (yaja-si) hour convention. Numbers only — narrative interpretation is not produced here.

calculate_saju

Decide the East Asian zodiac animal for a birth date the way saju and BaZi actually reckon it — from ipchun (입춘 / 立春, the start of spring, around 4 February), not from 1 January and not from Lunar New Year. Births in January and early February are commonly mislabelled by a whole animal; this tool reports the correct one and whether the common answer differs.

check_zodiac_year

Look up one of the sixty day pillars (60갑자 / jiazi) by its stem-and-branch characters, e.g. "甲子" or "gapja". Returns the colour-and-animal name, a one-line epithet, the Day Master element and its traditional nature image. Use after calculate_saju to describe someone, or on its own as a reference.

day_master_character

Compute the 10-year luck pillars (대운 daeun / 大運 da yun) for a chart: the direction (forward or reverse), the starting age, and eight successive pillars with the age each one opens. Direction follows the year-stem polarity combined with sex; the starting age comes from the distance in days to the adjacent solar term, divided by three. The day count is returned so the derivation can be checked.
