Description

NameTrend Baby Names looks up how popular a baby name is in the United States, using the Social Security Administration's national baby-name files for 1880 to 2025. Expecting parents use it to choose names, and writers, researchers, and teachers use it to check naming trends for a period or a lesson. Ask about one name or compare up to five. For each name you get the 2025 rank and number of babies, the change over the last 10 years, the peak year, the highest rank it reached, total babies since 1880, and the girls and boys split. An interactive line chart shows births or rank by year, with hover values and chips to add or remove names. Ask about a specific year, such as Jennifer in 1975, to get that year's births and rank. To find ideas, filter names for girls, boys, or both by first letter, ending, letters contained, length, and approximate syllables. Filter by 2025 popularity (top 100, ranks 101-200, ranks 201-1,000, uncommon, rare). You can also list the fastest-rising names over a period of up to 50 years, vintage names popular in 1910-1930 and rare now, names popular in a chosen era, or unisex names where girls are 40-60% of recent babies. Each result shows its 2025 rank, births, a trend arrow, and a small sparkline. Ranks follow SSA numbering: births in descending order, with ties broken alphabetically. Past years are ranked within the top 1,000; 2025 ranks cover all listed names. Example: "Compare the baby names Olivia, Emma and Charlotte using US Social Security data." Limitations: US data only. Spelling variants are separate names (Aiden, Ayden, Aidan). SSA does not list a name in a year when fewer than 5 babies of one sex got it. Yearly detail covers names with 500 or more US births since 1880, any 2025 births, or a past top-1,000 rank. No name meanings, origins, or pronunciations; syllable counts are approximate.

Read the methodology
How do I improve NameTrend Baby Names's Claude Connector discoverability?

The levers are the listing surface agents actually read: names, descriptions, keywords, tool metadata, and registry health. Which lever matters depends on where discovery breaks, which is what continuous measurement shows.

Where is this profile measured?

This profile uses the geography attached to the latest public registry snapshot: US. Locale tags are intentionally omitted.
