Description

Verika checks Italian business and personal identifiers and enriches them with official, freely available sources. It is built for anyone who onboards Italian suppliers or customers, checks invoices and payment details, or needs a quick profile of an Italian company or public body. What it does: • Partita IVA (VAT number): formal check digit validation, live status on the EU VIES service, registered name and address normalised to the official ISTAT municipality list (comune, provincia, regione). • Company profile (scheda_soggetto): one call combines VIES status, address, Italian Public Administration index (IPA: IPA code, PEC certified email, website), GLEIF data (LEI code, legal form, direct and ultimate parent, number of subsidiaries) and an indicative screening of the name against the EU consolidated sanctions list. • Codice fiscale (tax code): validation including omocodia, with sex, date and place of birth decoded from the official tables. • IBAN: checksum validation for any country; for Italian IBANs also CIN check and bank name from the ABI code. • Comune lookup: municipality by name or cadastral code, with province, region and ISTAT code. Every result states its source and whether that source was reachable, so Claude never presents a missing answer as a negative one. Sanctions matches are flagged "to be verified" and must be confirmed by a person; the tool is not a substitute for an AML provider. Privacy: tool arguments (VAT numbers, tax codes, IBANs, names) are never stored. Only anonymous usage counters are kept for 90 days. All tools are read-only. Shareholders, officers and financial statements are not included, as in Italy they are paid data from the Business Register. Open source (MIT): https://github.com/JackPons/partita-iva-mcp
