Anomaly AI

Get a link to Anomaly's add-data page for a project. Use it when the person wants Anomaly to analyse their data, especially a file too large to attach to this chat or data in a source such as Google Analytics 4, BigQuery, Shopify or Google Sheets. Anomaly cannot receive a file through this chat: the person opens the link in their browser, already signed in as this account, and adds their data on that page. They can drop or choose files up to 1 GB (Excel, CSV, PDF and images; Excel and CSV are saved into tables automatically, PDFs and images are read when a question asks about them) or connect a source: Google Sheets, Excel / OneDrive, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, Shopify, HubSpot, Salesforce, QuickBooks, BigQuery, Snowflake, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server or Doris. The page shows the tables being saved and tells them when their data is ready. Pass source to open one of those connections directly; the default is files. Pass project_id to choose the project; otherwise the most recent one is used, and a first project is created if the account has none. Then wait until the person says their data is in, and ask about it with ask_anomaly or find_anomalies.

add_data

Ask Anomaly's data analyst a question about a project's data. Anomaly runs the analysis itself (queries, charts, dashboards, spreadsheets, reports) and replies in plain text. Use Anomaly for data too large to attach to this chat (files up to 1 GB), for data that lives in a connected source such as Google Analytics 4, BigQuery, Shopify or Google Sheets, and for analysis the person will repeat or share (dashboards, scheduled reports). Pass project_id to start a new conversation, or conversation_id to follow up in an existing one; the analyst keeps that conversation's context. Analyses can take several minutes. This call waits for the answer: up to about 2.5 minutes with progress messages while Anomaly works when your client accepts progress notifications, otherwise about 40 seconds. If the answer is not ready by then, it returns status "working" with the conversation id; then call get_answer with that conversation id until the status is "complete". A finished answer lists what Anomaly created or updated (dashboards, insights, files) with a link to open each in Anomaly and a download link for each file. Then, for every chart and table in an insight, its definition as Anomaly stores it (type, title, axes, series, units, formats, SQL) with the rows its query returned, as JSON, so you can quote exact numbers or draw it yourself; charts also come with a picture of how Anomaly drew them. Each question uses the account's Anomaly credits and appears as a chat in the project.

ask_anomaly

Scan a project's data in Anomaly for unusual changes (spikes, drops, outliers, broken trends) and rank them by how much they matter, with the evidence for each. Use it when the person asks what is unusual, what changed or why a number moved, especially in large datasets or connected sources such as Google Analytics 4, BigQuery, Shopify or Google Sheets. Pass focus to narrow it, for example "sales by region" or "last month's website traffic". Pass project_id to choose the project; otherwise the most recent one is used. If the project has no data yet, nothing is run and no credits are used: it returns a link for the person to add data. Analyses can take several minutes. This call waits for the answer: up to about 2.5 minutes with progress messages while Anomaly works when your client accepts progress notifications, otherwise about 40 seconds. If the answer is not ready by then, it returns status "working" with the conversation id; then call get_answer with that conversation id until the status is "complete". To dig into a finding, call ask_anomaly with the conversation id it returns. Each scan uses the account's Anomaly credits and appears as a chat in the project.

find_anomalies

Collect Anomaly's latest answer in a conversation (from ask_anomaly or list_conversations), with its links, download links, chart and table data (JSON) and chart pictures. Waits like ask_anomaly: up to about 2.5 minutes with progress messages when your client accepts progress notifications, otherwise about 40 seconds. If the status is still "working", call it again.
