Renders the natal chart as an SVG wheel: zodiac ring, house ring, planet glyphs at their real degrees with collision-avoided labels, and the aspect lines across the centre. Use it when the user asks to SEE their chart, wants an image, or when a picture would explain a stellium or a T-square better than a list would. This is the ONLY natal chart tool, and it RETURNS THE WHOLE CHART, not just a picture. The response has exactly two content blocks: the complete text chart — placements, angles, houses, the full aspect list and the notes — and the wheel as an embedded resource of type `image/svg+xml`, whose `text` is the SVG document itself. The SVG appears once and only once; it is NOT repeated in structuredContent, which carries only the resource URI, the byte length and the render options. One call answers everything about a birth chart. "Show me my chart and tell me what it means" is a single call — read the placements and the interpretation off the text block. Do not call it twice for the same person; the chart is deterministic and the second answer is identical to the first. Without a birth time the wheel is still drawn, but with 0° Aries on the ascendant axis and equal house sectors, because the real ones are unknown. That is a drawing convention only; the note is written into the image and returned in notes.

The Moon's phase, percent illumination, ecliptic sign and degree, plus the exact UTC times of the next new moon, first quarter, full moon and last quarter. Needs no birth data. Use it for "what phase is the moon tonight", "when is the next full moon", "what sign is the moon in", or before any ritual/timing question. For a specific past or future date, pass it; otherwise it answers for right now. The phase is computed from the Sun–Moon elongation, so it is the astronomical phase, valid worldwide. Moon longitude is accurate to 0.012° on average and 0.058° worst case over 1900–2100, which puts the quoted phase-event times within a few minutes of the true ones.

Where every planet is right now, or at any instant you name. Ten planets plus Chiron and both lunar nodes, with sign, degree in sign and retrograde status. This needs NO birth data — use it for "what sign is Mercury in", "is Mercury retrograde right now", "what was the sky doing on the moon landing", "what are the current transits in general". Do not ask the user for their birth details to answer those. These are geocentric tropical positions, the same frame a birth chart uses. Retrograde is computed from a symmetric finite difference and can disagree with a full-precision ephemeris within a few hours either side of a station.

Turns a city name into latitude, longitude and IANA timezone, from a city database bundled in this server. CALL THIS FIRST whenever the user names their birthplace as a city rather than as coordinates — every chart tool needs numeric latitude and longitude, and guessing them from memory puts the ascendant degrees off. Accepts "Berlin", "Springfield, IL", "Springfield, United States", "Springfield, IL, US", and the region names this tool prints back ("Nürnberg, Bayern"). Matching ignores case and diacritics and knows common exonyms and historical names (Breslau resolves to Wrocław). Results are ranked by match quality then population. Several results mean genuine ambiguity — there are dozens of Springfields. Ask the user which one rather than taking the first. An empty list means the city is not in the dataset (it holds populated places above a population floor); ask the user for the nearest larger city or for coordinates directly.

Cross-aspects between two people's natal charts — the relationship comparison. Every ordered pair of bodies across the two charts is checked, so A's Venus to B's Mars and A's Mars to B's Venus are two separate findings, as they should be. Use it for compatibility questions: "how do we get on", "what does our chart say", "are we compatible". Needs both birth dates and both sets of coordinates — resolve each city with resolve_birth_place first. Birth times are optional but make the answer much stronger; without them the two charts have no houses and the Moon positions carry up to 6.6° of uncertainty each, which can flip a close aspect on or off. Orbs are the natal preset: 8° for conjunction, opposition, trine and square, 4° for sextile, times 1.5 when either body is a Sun or a Moon. Both individual charts come back in full alongside the cross-aspects. crossAspects is sorted tightest orb first in both the text and the structured output, so index 0 is the strongest contact between the two charts.

get_synastry

Finds the aspects that transiting planets are making to a person's natal chart, with the exact UTC moment each aspect perfects and the window it stays within orb. This is the tool for "what's happening for me right now", "when does my Saturn return finish", "what should I watch for next month". It needs the person's birth data — get the coordinates from resolve_birth_place first if they name a city. With no window it reports what is active at this moment. To scan a period, either give `days` (a window of that many days starting at `from`, or at right now) or give `from` and `to` explicitly — one or the other, not both. The window is capped at 366 days and is sampled, so on windows longer than about a month brief Moon aspects between samples can be missed (the response says when that applies). Slow outer-planet transits are found reliably at any window length. startUtc, exactUtc and endUtc describe the whole passage, not the slice inside your window — a Pluto square active all year reports the date it actually perfected, which may be months before or after the dates you asked about. Transit orbs are deliberately tighter than natal orbs: 6° for conjunction and opposition, 4° for trine and square, 3.5° for sextile, times 1.5 when the transiting body is the Sun or the Moon. Aspects to the ascendant and midheaven are only reported when the birth time is known.
