Count the number of locations from a dataset within one or more geographic boundaries. Returns a count per boundary — aggregate results only, no individual rows. Use this for aggregate analysis like 'How many Walmart stores are in California?' or comparing counts across multiple regions. Optionally provide a 'filter' (column/value) to count only matching locations, e.g. locations whose name contains 'McDonald's'. IMPORTANT: Use 'search_datasets' first to find valid dataset IDs, and 'search_boundaries_by_location' to find valid boundary IDs.

count_locations_by_boundary

Count points of interest from a dataset near a specific latitude/longitude coordinate within a given radius. Returns the count of matching locations only — no individual rows. IMPORTANT: Use 'search_datasets' first to find valid dataset IDs. Use 'geocode_address' to convert an address to coordinates if needed.

count_nearby_locations

Geocode an address string into geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude). Returns matching locations with their address display name, address type, and coordinates.

geocode_address

Fetch full details for a single dataset by its id: name, description, keywords, coverage, and 'exposedColumns' — rich per-column metadata (type, count, approximate unique values, null percentage, example value, description). Use this to understand a dataset's contents before querying it with the other tools. Obtain dataset ids from 'search_datasets'.

get_dataset_details

Analyze proximity between two datasets within a geographic boundary. Returns aggregate counts only — no individual locations: how many dataset A locations have at least one dataset B location within the given distance (matchedACount), how many have none (unmatchedACount), and each dataset's total within the boundary (countA, countB). Answers questions like 'how many schools have fast food within 500m' or 'how many schools have NO fast food nearby'. The two datasets must be different — joining a dataset against itself is not supported. IMPORTANT: Use 'search_datasets' first to find valid dataset IDs, and 'search_boundaries_by_location' to find valid boundary IDs.

search_boundaries_by_location

Get a list of available datasets for spatial analysis, paginated. Optionally filter by a search term. Returns a 'suggestions' array (each with general information including datasetId, name, description, coverage, etc.) and a 'pagination' object ({ page, pageSize, total, totalPages, hasMore }). Results are 1-based paginated with a default page size of 20; pass 'page' to read further pages while 'hasMore' is true, and 'limit' to change the page size. Use this to discover datasets that can be used with the other tools, e.g. spatial_join. Use 'get_dataset_details' with a returned datasetId to inspect a dataset's details, like columns.
