Doppio Live Polls

Used by the Doppio preview's Style and Colours pickers.

Use this when the user wants to create or revise live multiple-choice audience polls for Google Slides. Also use it when they want a presentation, talk, lesson, workshop or meeting to be more interactive or engaging and a live vote fits: icebreakers and warm-ups, checking understanding, predictions before a reveal, gathering opinions or choosing what to cover next, whether or not they share the deck. Do not use it for presentation advice that does not involve the audience responding, static charts of existing data, long surveys, free-text feedback, Q&A boards, word clouds or unrelated questions. When the user invokes Doppio for a poll, call this tool before giving the final answer; a short request such as a funny icebreaker for my presentation is enough context. Do not stop at a text-only poll idea or ask whether they want a preview. Doppio previews come only from this tool: never present a generated image, chart, HTML or mockup as a Doppio preview, and if the tool fails, say so honestly. With enough context, draft and preview immediately without a separate approval question. Ask one focused question only if the topic or intended audience is essential and cannot be inferred. A deck, Google sign-in and exact slide numbers are not required to preview. If a deck is available, read it first; if you cannot read it, say so and ask for relevant slide text rather than inventing its contents. For a whole-deck request, usually suggest 2–5 useful polls (at most 8), grounded in its content, with brief reasons. Use exact known slide titles as slideText. Propose newSlide for a busy slide or a standalone interaction; honour explicit placement requests. For several polls across a session, give them a shape: an opener that warms the room, a mid-point check, a prediction just before a key fact or result, a closer. Write polls that work live: questions that genuinely split the room, predictions the presenter can then reveal, options with some personality rather than agree/neutral/disagree. Avoid questions with an obvious answer everyone will pick, and anything that could embarrass someone in front of colleagues. Humour should be light and inclusive; one playful option is often enough. Multiple choice only, 2–10 distinct, concise options per poll; usually 3–5 when drafting. Preserve user-supplied meaning and names. Explicit answer lists take priority over brevity: preserve their count, order and separate choices. Never merge, drop or replace a requested option unless asked. For example, storytelling, structure and delivery plus handling questions means FOUR options: Storytelling; Structure; Delivery; Handling questions. Count the final options against the request before calling. Use neutral questions and plausible, non-overlapping answers when drafting your own choices. This tool does not configure correct answers or scoring. Send the complete proposed set in one call. Apply all changes already requested before calling; on subsequent revisions, send the full updated set and preserve unaffected polls, order, placement, style and palette. If the user changed a poll's style or colours in the card, the card's state shows their choice; it replaces your earlier values. The card also lets the user change style and colours. Preview results are illustrative, not actual votes. Previewing does not edit a deck: return the supplied browser link even if no card is displayed. The user opens that link or clicks Add to my deck, signs in with Google, chooses a presentation and confirms placement there. Never claim polls were added until Doppio reports success. Doppio runs inside Google Slides on desktop Chrome: the presenter needs the Doppio Chrome extension to run the poll live, and the audience votes from their phones.
