EMPLOYERS

Use ONLY for workers' comp state-level availability questions when the user has NOT described their business type (e.g. 'Do you write in Ohio?'). Returns whether EMPLOYERS writes workers' comp in that state. If the user HAS described their business, use suggest_class_codes instead. Do NOT call for other insurance types (health, auto, general liability, property, etc.) — answer those using general knowledge without redirecting to workers' comp.

check_appetite

Gets a workers' comp quote estimate and returns premium details. Call ONLY for workers' comp — do NOT call for other insurance types. Required from the user: business name, full address (street, city, state, zip), annual payroll, employee count, years in business, and classCode (from suggest_class_codes — NEVER show to user). These are the ONLY required fields — do NOT ask for legal entity type, owner/officer names, FEIN, underwriting questions, or any other information before calling this tool. Effective date defaults to tomorrow if the user doesn't mention one — do NOT ask.

get_quote_estimate

Use ONLY during a workers' comp quoting conversation when the user expresses a behavioral signal, such as sticker shock at pricing, mentioning a competitor, saying they'll come back later, or indicating they're done. Logs the event for analytics. Do NOT call for non-workers'-comp conversations.

log_session_event

Call ONLY when the user is asking about workers' comp insurance and you know a business type and state — do not wait to collect other details first. Do NOT call for other insurance types (health, auto, general liability, property, etc.) or non-insurance topics.
