Evidence Board

Arranges the board’s cards in columns, one per group, left to right in the order given; each group stacks top to bottom in the order of its IDs, wrapping into a second column when long. Cards no group lists go in a last column, so none is hidden. The case brief and Next steps stay where they are. With zones: true, each labelled group gets a zone round its column titled with its label, replacing zones you drew before (the investigator’s own stay). The investigator can undo it on the board, or with undo_arrange.

arrange_board

Changes a zone’s title, colour or size, or redraws it round cards (item_ids); or changes text’s words, colour, size or place (text lands clear of cards and other text). Only what’s given changes. Moving a zone this way doesn’t move its cards (the investigator dragging it does).

update_text_or_zone

Cuts a clipping from an item onto the board as its own card, beside the item and joined to it: a quote from its text (its exact words, as get_item shows them), or a box on a picture (x, y, w, h as fractions of the picture from its top left). The clipping is an item, so it can be linked and cited.

clip

Corrects a chronology event’s date, time, precision or wording, by its id from get_chronology or add_events. Only the fields given change. An item’s own date is changed on the item, with update_item.

update_event

Creates a new, empty case in the user’s Evidence Board account, with a name and optionally its objective (what it has to establish).

create_case

Removes an event from a case’s chronology, by its id from get_chronology or add_events. One added with add_event is deleted; one read from an item is hidden, and the user can show it again.

delete_event

Permanently removes one link between two items. The items stay.

delete_link

Permanently deletes items or people and entities from a case, with their links and files. Only when the user asks to delete them.

delete_items

Draws a zone: a coloured area with a title, behind the cards, grouping the cards inside it (e.g. "Suspects", "The night of 14 March", "Ruled out"). Give item_ids to draw it round those cards where they are now (move or arrange them together first), or x, y, width and height. To arrange the whole board into titled zones, use arrange_board with zones: true instead.

add_zone

Changes a person or entity’s type, name, role, other names, notes, card size, mark, or a place’s coordinates. Only the fields given change.

update_entity

Changes an item’s title, notes, date, tags, source or mark, or its card’s size on the board (a photo, floor plan or map made large, its picture filling the card). Only the fields given change; an empty string clears a field.

update_item

Gives a link where the user adds files to a case from their own device: photos, PDFs, Word documents, emails, WhatsApp exports, spreadsheets, audio and video. Files attached in this chat can’t reach Evidence Board.

get_upload_link

Draws a labelled link between two items or entities on a case's board, from one to the other, ending at a pin on a picture when from_pin or to_pin is given. Standard labels: supports, contradicts, related, same-person, same-location, same-time, references, appears-in, associated-with, attached-to, depicts; or a short label of your own.

link_items

Lists the user's Evidence Board cases, their own and those shared with them, newest activity first, with each case's ID, name, objective, how many items it holds and, for a shared one, whether they can edit it.

list_cases

Saves a walkthrough of the case’s board: a guided tour that flies the board to each stop in turn and shows a line or two about it. Anyone who can see the board plays it with its Play button, and it can be recorded as a short video. Replaces any walkthrough the case has. Make one only when the user asks.

set_walkthrough

Moves cards on the board: each beside another card (next_to, with side right, left, above or below), or to a point (x, y). A card goes to the nearest free place there, so it never covers another. Moves run in order. The investigator can undo them on the board, or with undo_arrange.

move_items

Moves a pin to another spot on its picture (x and y, fractions from the top left) or changes its label. Only what’s given changes.

update_pin

Puts a numbered pin on a picture (an image item) at a spot, with a short label: the doorway on a floor plan, the car in a CCTV still, a house on a map. x and y are fractions of the picture’s width and height from its top left corner (0.5, 0.5 is the middle), as seen in the image get_item returns. Links can then end at the pin: link_items with to_pin or from_pin.

add_pin

Puts a place (an entity with coordinates) or a photo with GPS on a framed map card: a pin where its coordinates fall, labelled with its name, and a "same-location" link from it to that pin. Give a place coordinates first with add_entity or update_entity (lat, lon).

pin_place

Reads one case: who can see it, its brief (objective, background, theories, period), next steps, links, and every item and person or entity on the board with the text read from its file. Long cases come in pages.

get_case

Reads one item or person on a case in full: the whole text read from its file (in parts if very long), its file details and source, and every link to it. A photo also comes back as an image to look at.

get_item

Lists a case's dated events, oldest first, as its Chronology view does: item dates, photo and email times, events read from files, and the investigator's own, each with the item it comes from and its id.

get_chronology

Removes a pin from its picture. Links that ended at it stay, drawn to the picture’s edge. The others on that picture are numbered again in order.

delete_pin

Removes text or zones from the board. A zone’s cards stay where they are.

delete_text_or_zone

Takes the case’s walkthrough off the board.

remove_walkthrough

Use when the user asks for a review of a case, or what its evidence does and does not establish. Returns the review method Evidence Board uses, then the first page of the board.

start_review

Saves a review you wrote to the case in Evidence Board: the summary, findings, theories, next steps and questions show in its assistant panel and Next steps card. Links, people and brief edits you suggest wait there for the user to accept.

save_review

Saves your reading of a photo, scan or document on the board as what it says, so search, reviews and the board use it. Mark a doubtful word or number as [?best reading|alternative?].

save_reading

Finds the items on a case whose title, notes, file text, tags, aliases, role or source mention some words, with a snippet of each match.

search_case

Gives a person, organisation, place, vehicle, object or other entity on a case its own picture, shown on its card and wherever it appears on the board. Take it from a photo already on the case (item_id), a picture’s public web address (url: the image itself, saved by Evidence Board with its hash) or a file you have (base64). JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 3 MB as base64. Replaces any picture it had.

set_picture

Shows a case’s board in the chat, to look at and move around: its cards, links and people, and its chronology. Read-only.

show_board

Puts the case’s chronology on the board as a timeline string below the cards, its dated events pinned left to right with strings to their evidence; or takes it off the board (show false).

show_timeline

Ticks a next step done (with what was found), reopens it, dismisses it, or changes its wording.

update_next_step

Puts the board’s cards back where they were before the last arrange_board or move_items. Call it again to go back further.

undo_arrange

Writes text straight on the board, as on a physical one: a heading, a label, a short note to the investigator. It isn’t evidence. Put it in a zone (zone_id: at the zone’s foot, which grows to hold it), above a card (above_item), or at x, y. It lands clear of cards and other text.

add_text

Sets parts of a case’s brief when the user asks for it: the objective, background, theories or allegations to test, the period covered and what’s out of scope. Only the parts given change.
