Fibalo is bookkeeping and invoicing software for freelancers, sole traders, small businesses and limited companies (GmbH, UG) in Germany, built around the monthly handover to the tax advisor. It covers German accounting only: DATEV, the SKR03 and SKR04 charts of accounts, German VAT including reverse charge and the small-business scheme, and e-invoices in the ZUGFeRD and XRechnung formats. Receipts and supplier invoices arrive by e-mail, upload or phone photo, are recognised, assigned to accounts, matched against bank and PayPal transactions, and leave as a DATEV export. With this app, that work happens in the conversation. Invoicing: write an invoice to a customer with line items, quantities, units, VAT rates, service period, due date and texts, review the totals Fibalo computed, and issue it. Issuing assigns the next invoice number and produces an EN 16931 e-invoice (E-Rechnung) as a ZUGFeRD PDF, plus XRechnung XML when a Leitweg-ID is given for public-sector buyers. The PDF comes back as a download link and can be e-mailed to the customer. New customers and suppliers are added with their address and VAT ID. DATEV export: preview the bookings of a period (account, contra account, tax key, amount), see what blocks an entry and which documents are still unreviewed, run the export and get download links to the DATEV files for the tax advisor, check the DATEV connection, and push a document into DATEV Unternehmen online. Reports: the BWA management report for any range of months, the BWA year overview month by month by cost type, the advance VAT return (UStVA) for a month or a quarter with the amount payable and an ELSTER readiness check, each as figures or as a PDF download link, spending by supplier, month, status or document type, and money in and out by counterparty, month, direction or bank account. Beyond that: list companies and read one in full, search documents by period, status, source, supplier, invoice number or amount and open one with everything recognised on it, find bank payments that still have no receipt for the month-end close, add a document from a file or a public link, and, as an owner, manage who has access, for example invite the tax advisor. The app files nothing with the tax office or ELSTER, does not change account assignments and gives no tax advice. Issuing an invoice and running an export are final, so both require an explicit confirmation. Totals always state how many documents carry no amount or no invoice date, so a number is never quoted blind. Every call runs as the signed-in person with their own Fibalo permissions: the app holds no credential of its own, and a refusal always comes from Fibalo.

Sums are per currency: two currencies are two rows, never one meaningless total. `missing_netto` / `missing_brutto` say how many documents in a group carry no amount yet, and `undated_belege` how many the period could not see because no Rechnungsdatum was recognised. Read both before quoting a total.

Documents of a company, newest first: the investigation surface. The period filters the ARRIVAL date (created_at), so a document whose Rechnungsdatum was never recognised still shows up. For a period by invoice date, use belege_summary(date_field="rechnungsdatum") or read `rechnungsdatum` on the rows.
list_belege
Put a document into a company's inbox, the same path as an upload from the app. The file lands in storage and recognition picks it up; the returned Beleg starts in `received` and its fields fill in asynchronously. When the company has DATEV connected, a document that recognition confirms is pushed to DATEV Unternehmen online automatically, and that cannot be recalled from here. Every call adds a document, a repeat adds a second copy. PDF, JPEG and PNG only. Give exactly one of content_base64 or source_url; a URL must be https and public (the pod refuses to fetch internal addresses).

List the Fibalo companies you can see: your own and any you were invited to. `is_owned` marks the ones whose account you own; only there can you manage members. `inbound_address` is the e-mail address that turns a forwarded invoice into a Beleg.

Fresh download links to the files of an export that already ran. The id of the latest export is `last_export.id` in datev_export_preview.

Whether the company is connected to DATEV (Unternehmen online) and to which Mandant. `status` not_connected means the owner has to connect DATEV in the Fibalo app first: that step is a login at DATEV in the browser and cannot be done from here. `last_error` says why a connection stopped working.

Run the DATEV export of a period and get download links to its files. Produces the two DATEV-Format files a Steuerberater imports: the EXTF Buchungsstapel (the Buchungen) and the EXTF Stammdaten (Debitoren and Kreditoren). Every confirmed Beleg of the period is marked as exported, which takes it out of the next export. Call datev_export_preview first, show the user the totals, the problems and how many Belege are still unreviewed, and get their yes. `files[].url` are download links valid for 15 minutes: give them to the user as they are. datev_export_files returns fresh links later.

Push one Beleg's document into DATEV Unternehmen online (Belege online) of the connected Mandant. The Steuerberater sees the document there. It leaves Fibalo and cannot be pulled back from here, so get the user's yes first. A repeat replaces the same document in DATEV, it never adds a second one. Needs a live DATEV connection (datev_status). The answer carries datev_upload_status and, on failure, the reason.

Write an invoice as a draft. Nothing is numbered or sent yet, a draft can be changed or deleted. The answer carries `totals_preview` (netto, umsatzsteuer per rate, brutto) computed the way issuing will compute them: show it to the user before issue_invoice. A draft's own netto and brutto stay null. Amounts are EUR. The customer must be a debitor of this company (list_kontakte, or create_kontakt).

One invoice in full, with fresh download links once it is issued. `pdf_url` is the invoice PDF (a ZUGFeRD/Factur-X E-Rechnung: the PDF carries the structured XML inside). `xml_url` is the XRechnung XML and exists only for an invoice with a Leitweg-ID. Both links expire after a few minutes: hand them to the user right away, and call this again for a new one.
get_invoice
Issue a draft: it gets the next invoice number and today's date and becomes a legal document. This cannot be undone. An issued invoice can never be edited or deleted (German GoBD), and its number is used up. Show the user the customer, the lines and the totals of the draft and get their yes first. The answer carries `pdf_url` (the E-Rechnung PDF, ZUGFeRD) and, for an invoice with a Leitweg-ID, `xml_url` (XRechnung): give the user the link, it expires after a few minutes and get_invoice returns a fresh one. The invoice is also filed as a Beleg for the DATEV export and, when the company has DATEV connected, pushed to DATEV Unternehmen online automatically.

E-mail an issued invoice to the customer, PDF attached. A sent e-mail cannot be recalled. Tell the user the address it goes to and get their yes before calling. Every call sends another e-mail.

Change a draft invoice. Only what you pass changes; `items` replaces all lines at once. An issued invoice is frozen and refuses this: correcting one means a new invoice.
update_invoice_draft
Add a customer (debitor) or supplier (kreditor). Fibalo assigns the DATEV account number. An invoice can only be written to a debitor, so this comes first for a new customer. Search list_kontakte before creating: Fibalo refuses a likely duplicate (same VAT id, or same name and postal code) and returns the existing Kontakt instead. A VAT id is checked with the EU's VIES service. An invoice needs the customer's full postal address, so ask for it.

Give someone access to a company you own, by e-mail. Fibalo e-mails them about it. An address that has no Fibalo account yet gets an invitation instead, which turns into access on their first login. Either way the person is notified by e-mail and will see the company's accounting data, so confirm the address and role with the user first. A repeat for the same address is refused. Owner-only: Fibalo refuses it for a company you are merely a guest of.

Who has access to a company, plus invitations still waiting to be claimed. `can_manage` is false when you are a guest of that company, and the member tools below will then be refused by Fibalo, which is the correct answer.
