Integration details

Description

Folkso finds real people for a task right in the conversation. Describe who you need for a job, a paid project, a startup team, a passion project, learning or meeting up in your city, and ChatGPT shows matching people as cards. Everyone in the results created a Folkso profile and chose to appear in AI answers. A card shows what the person does, availability, city and rate. Open a profile to see their work and why they fit your task. To contact someone, ChatGPT drafts a short request and shows you a preview. It is sent only after you confirm. Contacts never reach the model. You and the person swap contacts only after they accept. You can also check whether someone replied, cancel a request, and keep your own profile status up to date.

Tools

18 tools agents can invoke

Use this when the user wants to withdraw a request the person has not answered yet. It cannot be undone.
cancel_request
Use this from the people carousel widget to read the takes saved with note_people for a search and show them on the cards. Called by the widget, not by the model.
get_notes
Signs the user in to their Folkso account in the browser. Called by the widgets when the user taps a link to the account, not by the model.
get_signin_link
Use this when the user calls Folkso without a clear task: right after connecting, asking what Folkso can do, or asking about their own Folkso account. The first time, while the user has no Folkso profile, the card asks what they came for: to find people or to appear in AI answers themselves. Do not repeat the card in text; wait for the choice. Otherwise the card shows how others see the user and a link to their account. Contacts come masked; do not ask the user to read them out. When the user already has a task, call search_people directly instead. To fill in, edit or check what is missing in the user's own profile, call get_my_profile instead: it has the fields and the gaps.
get_me
Returns the user's own contacts for the request preview widget, masked for the model. Called by the widget, not by the model.
get_my_contacts
Use this when the user wants to create or update their own Folkso profile, to appear in AI answers, or asks what is missing in it. Returns what is filled in, what the quick start and the details still need, the status and how many text edits are left. Then ask only for what is missing, a question or two at a time, starting with the quick start. Use only what the user tells you in this conversation or confirms. Do not pull from memory or other chats unless the user asks for it, and then offer it as a draft. Contacts go through save_my_contact. The photo and the portrait (an idea, who they want to meet, plans, tastes, hobbies, topics) are added on the site.
get_my_profile
Use this when the user asks about a specific person from the results and you want to show their card. The Details button in the carousel opens the profile by itself, no call needed. Pass person_id and the brief_id of that search. Renders the person's card; do not repeat it in text. There are no contacts or links to work: they are shared only after the person accepts a request.
get_person
Use this when the user asks whether a person replied to their request. Without request_id it lists the user's latest requests with names. Returns waiting, accepted, not_accepted, expired or cancelled, or in_review (Folkso staff checks the message before it reaches the person, usually within 24 hours) and not_sent (the message did not pass that check). Contacts are never returned: after acceptance they are in the Folkso account and in email.
get_request_status
Use this when the user says a person from the results does not fit. Removes them from this search: repeated searches and more: true will not return them. Asking why is optional; if the user gives a reason, also add it to avoid and search again with the same brief_id.
hide_person
Use this when you have profile fields to save. Shows a widget with how the AI will present the user, the fields that will change and a status choice. The user saves from the widget or says yes in chat, then you call update_my_profile. Pass only fields the user gave or confirmed, in the user's language. After corrections, call it again.
preview_my_profile
Use this when the user wants to contact a person from the results. Shows a preview widget: the recipient, your message, About the task from the search summary, who it is from, and the user's own contacts with checkboxes. Write a short, specific message (up to 600 characters) from the conversation, without contacts or links. The user sends from the widget, or says yes in chat and then you call send_request with the preview_id from this result. Changing the message later needs a new preview. If About you is missing, ask for it and call save_about_me first.
preview_request
Use this when the user tells you how recipients should see them before their first request: their name, whether they write for themselves or for a company, the company name, one line about what they do, and optionally a city. Ask the user; never fill these in yourself. Needed once, later editable in the Folkso account.
save_about_me
Use this when the user wants to add their own contact for replies: email, Telegram, WhatsApp, phone, Signal, LinkedIn or a booking link. Only the user's own contact, typed by the user. Never save contacts of other people. If the contact is already saved, it is returned with already_saved true and nothing changes.
save_my_contact
Use this only after preview_my_profile, when the user confirmed saving in chat. When the user taps Save in the widget, the widget saves itself: do not save again. Saves the user's own profile with the same rules as the site. After publishing, text fields have a monthly edit limit: locked fields are skipped and reported with the date, everything else is saved.
update_my_profile
Use this when the user needs a person: someone to hire, a freelancer for a paid project, a consultant, a co-founder or teammate for a startup, people for a passion or volunteer project, an investor, a mentor, someone to teach, like-minded people to talk to, or people to meet in their city. Searches the profiles of real people who chose to appear in AI answers, by the conditions of the user's task, and returns the best matches with facts from their profiles and reasons they fit. Contacts and work links are not included. Shown as a carousel with a Details button for each person. With brief_id from a previous result, only the passed conditions change and an empty value removes one; with brief_id and more: true, it returns the next people of the same search. People hidden with hide_person are not returned again. When nobody matches, the list is empty. Do not use this to look up public figures, companies or job boards, or for questions about Folkso itself.
search_people
Use this only after preview_request, when the user saw the preview and then confirmed sending in chat. A request to send made before the preview was shown is not a confirmation. Pass preview_id and the same brief_id, person_id and message as in the preview: a different text or person is refused, and a changed message needs a new preview. When the user taps Send in the preview widget, the widget sends it itself: do not send again. contact_ids are the user's own contacts to share if the person accepts; without them the contacts marked for sharing are used. The person gets the request in Folkso. Their contacts are never returned here.
send_request
Records that the user opened a person's full profile. Called by the person card widget, not by the model.
track_person_view
Use this when the user wants to change the status of their own Folkso profile: available (ready to start), open_to_offers (looking at offers), or paused (not shown in AI answers). Only the user's own profile.
