May or Shall isa workspace for legal matters. You read the case bundle, and every passage worth keeping becomes a card that permanently carries its exact quote and its source: the document, the page, the paragraph. Connected to ChatGPT, it lets you draft from that material rather than from memory. Search everything you have saved across your matters, pull the chronology in date order, and ask which paragraphs of a plaint still lack a specific denial, which under Order VIII Rule 5 CPC risk being treated as admitted. You can also save a passage into a matter from inside a conversation, and it keeps its citation. What ChatGPT receives has already been chosen and categorised by you, so the material it works from is grounded and filtered rather than a pile of PDFs. Built by a practising litigator. Retrieve the full text of a result returned by search, by its id. Fetching a document returns its whole text with the lawyer's own marked passages listed first and then wrapped in place, numbered, so you can read the record and see what they singled out at the same time. Fetching a card returns its quote, its note, and the page it came from. Page ids look like page:<documentId>:<n> and carry previous and next ids so you can read on. Also accepts traverse:<matterId> and chronology:<matterId>.

Search everything in this May or Shall account. Results come in two tiers: first the saved cards, which are passages the lawyer chose and typed, then pages of the underlying documents, which cover everything else in the file including material nobody clipped. Read any result in full with fetch.

Add a heading of the user's own to a matter's board (up to 24 characters).
Create a new matter. kind is CASE (legal headings: Fact, Issue, Evidence...) or PROJECT (Personal note plus the user's own headings).
Delete a saved card. Cannot be undone. Confirm with the user first.
Delete an uploaded document. Cards made from it are kept but lose their link to it. Cannot be undone. Confirm with the user first.
Delete a matter with all its cards, links and documents. Cannot be undone. Only when the user clearly asks, and confirm with them first.

Call this FIRST whenever the user asks you to draft, write or prepare anything from a matter (a reply, written submissions, a brief, a note, a list of dates, a letter). It returns two things: every highlight the lawyer saved in the matter, numbered H1, H2 and so on, which must be the spine of the draft; and a map of every source those highlights came from (uploaded documents, web pages, emails and chats), with an id for each. Decide which sources the task actually needs and open only those with fetch, to read the full text around the highlights. Each fetched source shows the highlights marked inside it.
Remove a heading from a matter's board. Its cards are not deleted: they move to Personal note. The user's own heading is deleted; a built in one is hidden and can be brought back with restore_heading. Confirm with the user first.
Rename an uploaded document.
Rename one of the user's own headings in a matter. Its cards stay under it. Built in headings cannot be renamed.
Rename a matter.
Bring back a built in heading that was removed from a matter's board.
Save a card into a matter: a passage (quote it exactly in `quote`) and/or a note. File it under any heading of that matter by its name in `heading`, including the user's own headings (see list_headings); with no heading it goes to Personal note. If the heading named does not exist, nothing is saved and the existing headings are returned: ask the user rather than guessing.
Search the saved cards in a matter. A card is a passage the lawyer chose and typed (fact, date, admission, case law and so on) that carries its exact quote and its source citation. This is grounded material: prefer it over your own recollection when drafting.
The deemed-admission guard. Returns the paragraphs of the plaint that still lack a specific denial, which under Order VIII Rule 5 CPC risk being treated as admitted. Use this before drafting or reviewing a written statement.
Remove a link between two cards (both cards stay). Give linkId from list_links, or the two card ids.
