get_management_summary

Return profit and loss with what changed and by how much: revenue, cost of sales, gross profit, expenses and net profit. TWO SHAPES, and the response tells you which you got. With no period, this is the latest complete month against the previous month and the same month a year earlier, with the biggest per-account movements and a bridge showing how last month's net profit became this month's. With a period, it is that window totalled - movements[] and net_profit_bridge are empty for a multi-month window and their absence is not a finding. Use this for 'what changed', 'why is profit down', 'how did we do last quarter', 'what did we make last year'. NOT get_anomalies, which flags what looks wrong; this states what moved and by how much. ALWAYS STATE THE PERIOD YOU ARE REPORTING. period.label gives the exact months totalled and interpretation says how the request was read - relay it. 'Last year' means the business's own financial year, which is rarely January to December, and the user can only correct a wrong reading if they see which months were used. A NULL total WITH A partial_total PRESENT means the ledger does not hold every month of the window. Report the shortfall using the note and months_missing. NEVER present partial_total as the figure for the period - a part-year sum given as an annual figure is a fabricated number. IMPORTANT - LEAD WITH THE AMOUNT, NOT THE PERCENTAGE. Where a percentage is null and a note is given, it was withheld deliberately because the comparison figure is tiny and the percentage would mislead. Quote the note and use the amount. Do not calculate the percentage yourself from the figures provided. Cost of sales carries derived: true - it is revenue less gross profit, not a figure the ledger reported. Some platforms report no gross profit at all, in which case both lines are null with a reason: a limit of the platform, never a nil balance. A null prior_period or prior_year means no comparable period was available - report that as no comparison available, NEVER as a decline. Read-only.

get_comparative_pl

Return the bank and ledger reconciliation checks available for this business's accounting platform: what each check found, and which checks could not be run. Use this ONLY for explicit reconciliation questions: 'is my bank reconciled', 'what's unreconciled', 'do my bank and ledger agree', 'is the bank balance matched'. NOT for 'are my books up to date', 'are my books ready', 'what is outstanding for last month' or anything month-end shaped - those are get_close_readiness, which covers sales, purchases, payroll, taxes and the balance sheet as well as the bank. Reconciliation is one input to a close, not the whole of it, so a reconciled bank does not mean the books are ready. IMPORTANT: this is a POSITION as at a date, not activity over a period - reconciliation is a balance-sheet question. Coverage varies by platform and each check says its own: a check with coverage 'full' carries a real count; 'partial' means the platform could not measure it and the count is null. A null count is NOT zero. Never report a partial or not_assessable check as clean or up to date - report it as unconfirmed and say the client should check in their accounting software. Return indicative registration-threshold and company-tax monitors from your run-rate: whether annualised turnover is approaching the consumption-tax registration threshold for the business's OWN jurisdiction (VAT in the UK, GST in Australia), and an indicative company tax estimate for limited companies. The threshold, the tax name and the currency all come from the payload - use them as given, and never restate another jurisdiction's figure. Indicators from the run-rate — not a statutory rolling-12-month turnover figure, and not a filed or lodged return. DOES NOT compute a VAT or GST return, a liability for a period, or an amount payable: no transaction-level tax data is held. Information, not advice. Read-only, no arguments.

get_tax_and_compliance_indicators

Return who your biggest customers and suppliers are for the last complete month: ranked lists with names, amounts and percentage shares (e.g. 'top 5 suppliers', 'who are my biggest customers'), plus headline concentration figures ('how concentrated is my revenue', 'customer concentration'). Defaults to the last complete month; year and month request another ('top customers in July'). ONE MONTH PER CALL - these are shares of that month's invoices and do not sum across months, so a multi-month question needs a call per month and must not be answered by adding them up. A month that is not held says so: that is a gap in what has been collected, never a month with no customers. Read-only. IMPORTANT: these figures are a share of sales invoices raised in the period, ex-VAT — they are NOT P&L revenue, and income banked without an invoice is not included. Always state that basis when reporting them. Supplier figures are unavailable on FreeAgent and Sage.
