OpenBook

Return available booking slots for a specific service at a specific business over a date range. Use after the user has chosen a business and service and wants to see times. Each returned slot's `start_iso`, together with the `slug` and `service_id`, is everything hold_and_checkout needs to book it, and the response includes a `next_step` field naming that call. All times in the response are Europe/Dublin local (`times_are_local_to`): read and quote each slot's `start_local` (e.g. "Fri, 8 May, 9:00am"), never the UTC `start_iso`. When the user names a bare clock time like "11am", match it to the slot whose `start_local` is that local time — do not convert or compare it as UTC. `start_iso` is only the machine identifier you pass to hold_and_checkout; never narrate it to the user.

get_availability

Check whether a held booking has been confirmed, expired, or is still awaiting payment. Use after `hold_and_checkout` to follow up with the user, typically 30 to 90 seconds later or when their next message implies they may have completed checkout.

check_booking_status

Get full profile details for a specific business in OpenBook by slug: services, prices, opening hours, address, accessibility, and parking notes. Use when the user wants to evaluate a business before booking, or asks for more detail about one returned by `search_businesses`.

get_business_info

Book a specific slot — this is the booking step in OpenBook. Call it directly with the `slug`, `service_id` and `start_iso` from a search_businesses or get_availability result; no other tool call is required first. `start_iso` is a UTC machine identifier, not a clock time: when the user names a time like "11am" that is the Europe/Dublin local time, so match it to the slot whose `start_local` equals it and pass that slot's exact `start_iso` — never match the named time to the UTC hour. If the chosen service was returned with `asks_party_size` true (a communal slot seating up to `max_party`), ask how many people are coming first — no more than `max_party` — and pass the count as `customer_hints.party_size`, so the right number of seats is held and priced; if `asks_party_size` is false, treat it as one person and do not ask. It always places a 10-minute hold on the slot, then does one of two things. For card-payment services (`payment_mode` 'stripe_now') it returns a one-tap `checkout_url` the user opens to confirm and pay. For in-person or free services, if `customer_hints` includes the user's name and a phone number it confirms the booking outright and returns `booked: true` with a `confirmation_ref` and no `checkout_url` — nothing more for the user to do; if the name or phone is missing it returns a `checkout_url` instead so they can confirm and give a phone on the page. A phone number is required to confirm an in-person or free booking outright, so collect name and mobile first when you want a one-shot confirmation. Calling this never charges anyone and never takes payment — any card payment is authorised by the user on the checkout page, so you need not ask them to authorise a charge before calling it. Pass `customer_hints` with name, email, phone, party_size and any relevant notes. The response always includes a `next_step_for_user` string — surface exactly that (it either tells the user to tap the `checkout_url`, or tells them they're booked and gives their reference), and surface the `checkout_url` whenever it is present. Quote `summary.start_human` for the booked time; never narrate the UTC `start_iso` to the user.

hold_and_checkout

Add the user to the waitlist for a specific business and time window when their preferred slot is unavailable. Returns a notification token. We send an SMS or push notification with a one-tap booking link if a matching slot opens before the expiry. Use when the user has expressed a clear preference for a time and the available alternatives don't fit.

join_waitlist

List time slots that businesses are actively promoting in OpenBook (last-minute openings or curated discounts). Use when the user asks what's available now, what's bookable tonight, or wants to discover something local without a specific business in mind. Discounted slots are flagged in the response and should be disclosed to the user as discounted.

get_promoted_inventory

Record the user's feedback after a booking has happened. Use when the user mentions how it went, either spontaneously or after you asked. Pass their verbatim sentiment and your inferred rating.

record_post_booking_feedback

Search for local Irish service businesses (gyms, salons, barbers, spas, physios, yoga studios, classes, experiences) that have live booking inventory in OpenBook. Use when the user wants to find or book a local service in Ireland. Pass the user's request in `intent` (e.g. "personal trainer in Dublin"). Pass `customer_context` with any constraints, accessibility needs, or preferences they shared so we can match suitable businesses and pre-fill checkout. Always returns a `results` array (possibly empty with `notes` guidance); never errors. Each result includes the business `slug`, its bookable `services` (with `service_id` and price) and `sample_slots` — the identifiers get_availability and hold_and_checkout take, so a booking can proceed straight from a result without a further lookup, and a `next_step` field names the next call. Each service also reports `capacity`, `max_party` (the most people one booking can include), `price_per_person` and `asks_party_size`: when the service the user picks has `asks_party_size` true, ask how many people are coming before booking — no more than `max_party` — and pass it as `customer_hints.party_size`; when false, treat it as one person and do not ask. All times are Europe/Dublin local (`times_are_local_to`): quote each `sample_slots[].start_local`, never the UTC `start_iso`, and match any clock time the user names (e.g. "11am") to the slot whose `start_local` equals that local time — never read it as UTC. `start_iso` is only the identifier passed to hold_and_checkout.
