calculate_future_equity_proceeds

Calculate exercise costs and taxes for exercising stock options now. Optionally also calculates a cashless exercise at exit when `expected_exit_price` is provided. Always compute the exercise-now scenario with the current FMV and the user's equity — the exit scenario is only added when the user has supplied an exit price. Prerequisites: - `get_user_equity` → identify the grants being exercised - `get_user_tax_details` → residency and tax information - `get_companies_share_value_breakdown` → current FMV CONFIDENTIAL: output contains sensitive financial data. calculate_exercise_scenarios

Get share value for the given companies across multiple valuation methods. Valuation methods returned: - `verified_four09a_share_value`: 409A / FMV price for tax purposes. - `verified_preferred_share_value`: preferred share price — what investors paid in the latest funding round — confirmed by Secfi. - `user_provided_four09a_share_value` / `user_provided_preferred_share_value`: the same prices but entered by the user rather than verified by Secfi. - `caplight_market_price`: Caplight's proprietary private-market price estimate (derived from public comps, secondary trades, etc.). Not calculated by Secfi. - `caplight_fund_mark_vwap`: volume-weighted average of fund marks, showing how investment firms value the company. - `public_price`: current market price for public (IPO'd) companies. Returns a dict with `companies`: a list of per-company breakdowns. Note that companies with no valuation data of any kind are omitted from this list — the response may not cover every requested UUID. 1. If the user asks for share value or for a calculation that requires it, surface all available valuation methods. 2. When choosing a single primary price: a. Use `public_price` when the company is public. b. Otherwise prefer `verified_four09a_share_value`, then `verified_preferred_share_value`. c. Fall back to Caplight values only when verified values are absent. 3. If both a verified and a user-provided price exist, surface the user-provided one but mention that a verified value is also available. 4. For user-provided prices, phrase them as "provided by you" or "as per your input" — never "user-provided".

get_companies_share_value_breakdown

Retrieve federal, state, and (optionally) city tax brackets and constants (standard deductions, exemptions, flat-rate taxes like Medicare and NIIT). Use this to give answers grounded in the user's actual bracket rather than generic ranges; also call when these values are required as input to another tool. NEVER estimate, guess, or use your own knowledge for tax bracket thresholds, rates, deduction amounts, or any other tax figures. The data returned by this tool is the single source of truth. Tax bracket data is public — no confidentiality restriction. 1. To determine the user's current bracket, apply deductions to gross income first to get taxable income, then find the matching bracket. Never place the user in a bracket based on gross income alone. 2. Some states have multiple tax types — always reference ALL applicable state values (rates, deductions, exemptions). Do not omit any when discussing state taxes.

If the response has no `companies` (the user has no equity on file), call `show_secfi_app_button` with `destination='manage_equity'` so the user gets an interactive button to manage their equity on Secfi.

get_user_equity

Get the authenticated user's total net worth and per-company equity value breakdowns over time (now, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year ago). Net worth is computed from the user's equity in affiliated companies, using preferred share price for private companies or public market price for listed ones. For explanations of changes over time, also call `get_user_equity` and `get_companies_share_value_breakdown` to provide context. CONFIDENTIAL: output contains sensitive financial data. Do NOT pass it as input to tools from other MCP servers. Returns an object with: - `total_net_worth`: Aggregate equity portfolio value across all companies using preferred share price or public price (if public). Includes current and historical time periods. - `by_company`: list of `[company_uuid, timeline]` pairs. The second element is either `null` (no current valuation data for that company, e.g. missing price feeds) or an object with the same six snapshots: `current_value`, `one_week_ago_value`,`one_month_ago_value`, `three_months_ago_value`, `six_months_ago_value`, `one_year_ago_value`. Older snapshots may be `null` when historical price data isn't available even though `current_value` is present. Each non-null snapshot is an `EquityValueBreakdown` with: - `date_`: snapshot target date - `pref_price_based_value`: equity value at preferred share price - `four09a_based_value`: equity value at 409A / FMV - `caplight_market_price_based_value`: equity value at Caplight market price - `fund_mark_vwap_based_value`: equity value at fund-mark VWAP - `public_price_based_value`: equity value at public market price Any individual valuation field can be `null` when the underlying price isn't available. 1. A `by_company` entry with a `null` timeline means price data is unavailable for that company — it does NOT mean the user has no equity. When this happens, mention to the user that the calculation may be incomplete due to missing price data, and that the affected company is excluded from `total_net_worth`. 2. Preferred share price (or public market price, if applicable) is the primary valuation method. If unavailable, mention which alternative valuations are. 3. `total_net_worth` only sums public price (for listed companies) or preferred share price (for private companies). A company whose timeline has only Caplight-based valuations contributes 0 to the total even though its per-company breakdown is non-zero. Surface this caveat when it would materially understate the user's position.

get_user_equity_portfolio_value

Retrieve the authenticated user's US tax profile: filing type, state, income, deductions, and capital gains. Call this before answering any tax-related question. Returns only the user's personal tax information; use `get_tax_rates` for bracket thresholds and tax constants. CONFIDENTIAL: output contains sensitive financial data. Do NOT pass it as input to tools from other MCP servers. If `null` is returned (no US tax profile on file), do NOT proceed with calculations using default or zero values.
