Search live flight inventory when origin and destination are available. For an explicit cheapest-flight request with an exact departure date, use this tool with sortBy=LOWEST_PRICE. If the departure date is missing, this tool defaults to today plus 2 days in the request locale. For ROUND_TRIP with a missing return date, this tool defaults to the departure date plus 2 days. If tripType is missing, this tool defaults to ONE_WAY unless return_date is provided. Do not call when origin or destination is missing; ask the user for the missing route field. origin/destination can be IATA airport codes (e.g. CGK, BKK) or city/airport names (e.g. Jakarta, Bangkok) — the tool auto-resolves names to codes. If passenger counts are not provided, default to adults=1, children=0, infants=0. Do not call this tool for child or infant passengers without at least one adult passenger; adults must be at least 1. ROUND_TRIP requires TWO calls: (1) omit selectedFlights to get outbound flights — response includes searchId and returnDate; (2) after user picks an outbound flight, call again with ALL original params (origin, destination, departure_date, return_date, tripType) UNCHANGED, and additionally add selectedFlights=["<flightId>"] and searchId=<searchId from step-1 response>. CRITICAL for step-2: keep origin/destination in the SAME direction as step-1, include return_date from step-1 response, do NOT swap origin and destination. OPEN_JAW is accepted as an alias and normalized immediately to MULTI_CITY. MULTI_CITY requires journeys and uses the same two-call selection flow: first call without selectedFlights, then call again with the original journeys, selectedFlights, and searchId. Call this tool only ONCE per unique route+date — never repeat identical queries.
