UnfoldIP Patent Search

UnfoldIP gives Claude direct access to a searchable index of US patents - about 15.2 million documents published 2003 or later, covering both grants and published applications. Ask in plain language and Claude searches the corpus for you: by keyword or quoted phrase, by assignee or inventor, by publication, filing or priority date. Results come back ranked, with the title, abstract snippet, assignee, dates and a link to the full record on unfoldip.com. Once a patent is identified, Claude can pull its full text - complete claims and description - so it can answer questions grounded in the actual document rather than a summary. Typical uses: - Prior-art scouting. "Find US patents on solid-state battery electrolytes filed since 2023, and tell me which companies are most active." - Competitive monitoring. "What has Toyota published on hydrogen fuel cells in the last two years?" - Reading a specific patent. "Get US11394056B2 and summarise its independent claims." - Landscape questions. "Compare how Samsung SDI and LG Energy Solution approach sulfide electrolytes." Coverage is US-only and begins at 2003; it is not a worldwide database, and coverage is by publication date rather than filing date. Both limits are stated in the tool descriptions so Claude does not overstate what it found. Both tools are read-only.
