AI Booker

Answer a customer's general question about a specific restaurant using that venue's own knowledge base / FAQ — e.g. dress code, parking, dietary options, group policies, or amenities. Returns the most relevant published information for the model to answer from. Use for questions that are not about searching, availability, or booking.

answer_question

Look up restaurants on the Booker AI platform, filtered by city and/or cuisine. ALWAYS pass a city or cuisine filter. Called WITHOUT a filter it will NOT list venues — the platform can have thousands, so it returns only a count and the list of cities and asks you to narrow down. Do NOT call this on a greeting like 'hi'; greet the customer and ask what they're looking for first. Only after they name a city or cuisine, call this (or search_restaurants) with that filter to get actual venues.

browse_restaurants

Check available time slots at a specific restaurant for a given date and number of guests. Returns bookable time slots. Always call this before create_booking.

check_availability

Create a confirmed table reservation at a restaurant. Only call after the customer has explicitly confirmed all details. Requires the time slot and reservationTypeId from check_availability. Always collect the guest's email first — it is required and is passed to the restaurant's reservation system, which sends the diner their confirmation.

create_booking

Get the weekly opening hours for a restaurant by its venueId. Use when the customer asks which days or times a venue is open.

get_opening_hours

Get full details for a specific restaurant by its venueId — name, cuisine, city, country, address, phone, website, description, timezone, and opening hours. Use this after search_restaurants when the customer wants more information about a particular venue before deciding to book.

get_restaurant_details

List the reservation/meal types a restaurant offers (e.g. Lunch, Dinner), each with the time window it can be booked in and the reservationTypeId used for booking. Use this to tell the customer what they can book at a venue before calling check_availability for a specific date.

list_booking_types

Search for restaurants on the Booker AI platform. ONLY call this AFTER the customer has told you at least a city/area OR a cuisine/occasion. Do NOT call it on a greeting like 'hi', and do NOT call it just to list everything — if you don't yet know where or what they want, ASK them first (a friendly question), do not call this tool. Returns matching venues with the venueId needed for availability.
