CAIRO Medicines

Official adverse-event reporting routes for a jurisdiction. Each route carries verification_status: 'verified' means a named person confirmed it against the authority's own site; 'pending_review' and 'unverified' mean that check has not happened. A reachable URL is not verification. A jurisdiction outside coverage returns not_covered and no routes from any other market — an authority cannot take a report about a medicine it did not authorise.

Regulator-published label passages for one topic, with provenance. topic: indications | dosing | contraindications | warnings | interactions | pregnancy_lactation | adverse_reactions | composition_strengths | storage. focus: optional words that narrow a broad section to the passage which answers the question — topic='warnings', focus='acute pancreatitis' returns that warning rather than all of them. If nothing matches, the full topic is returned with a caveat saying so, so label text is never silently withheld. audience: 'patient' (default) prefers the patient leaflet / patient labeling and falls back to the professional document with an explicit document_audience_mismatch caveat; 'hcp' serves SmPC / USPI. Caller-asserted; the response says so. language: served when the corpus has it, else English with a language_fallback caveat. Each passage carries the product, document type, passage title, section, jurisdiction, language, the official source URL, and one date that states whether the regulator set it or CAIRO observed it. This is published label text for grounding, not advice for an individual patient; do not put patient details in any argument.

Version history of a product's governing label documents. Document versions only — no presentations, no pack or NDC listings, no label text. Every version states in date_basis whether its date is the regulator's own effective date or only the date CAIRO observed the content. Archive limits are given in the caveats: a version absent here is not evidence that it never existed.

Resolve a medicine name to one governed product, or say why not. query: a brand name, INN or active substance — not free text, and never patient details. jurisdiction: 'EU' or 'US'; omit to consider both. Always returns an explicit status: resolved, ambiguous_product (every candidate listed, none chosen), not_found, or not_covered. Never guesses between candidate products or between markets.

Find medicines by brand name or active ingredient. Concise discovery only: named products, plus pointers to the label sections that mentioned the term (headings and section numbers, never the text itself). Use it to establish which medicine is meant, then call get_medicine_information for the governed passages and their provenance. limit: 1-50, default 10.
