Use this when the user wants to know their calorie or macro totals for a day, check progress toward their goals, or ask how many calories they have left.

get_daily_summary

Use this when the user explicitly asks to remove a food entry from their log. Requires the entry_id from list_meals. This action cannot be undone.

delete_meal

Use this when the user wants to see what they ate on a specific day, or needs details about individual food entries including entry IDs for updating or deleting.

list_meals

Use this when the user wants to add a food item to their log. Provide either food_id (from search_foods) or food_name to auto-search. The tool resolves the food, calculates nutrition, and creates the entry.

log_meal

Use this when the user wants to find a food item before logging it, or to check nutritional information for a specific food. Returns food IDs that can be passed to log_meal.

search_foods

Use this after collecting the onboarding answers in conversation (see server instructions) to compute and save the user's calorie and macro plan. Also use it when the user wants to recalculate their plan because their weight, goal, or lifestyle changed. Computes calories with the Mifflin-St Jeor formula exactly like the Sphere iOS app.

setup_nutrition_plan

Use this when the user wants to change the quantity, portion, calories, or meal time of an already-logged food entry. Requires the entry_id from list_meals.

update_meal
