Description
Forkmate turns Claude, or any MCP-capable AI, into a food log. Say what you ate in plain language and your assistant records it to your private diary, tallying calories and macros the way MyFitnessPal does. The same diary lives at app.forkmate.ai as a chat: type a meal like a text, log it in a tap. Ask "how many calories today?" or "what did I eat this week?" and it reads back your day or a date range with per-day totals. It searches USDA FoodData Central and Open Food Facts for grounded macros and looks up packaged foods by barcode, and every number names its source: a database, the restaurant's published figures, a site labelled Unofficial, or a labelled estimate. Recipes you save log by name ("half my chili"). Your assistant logs what you ask it to, and any entry can be changed or removed afterwards, from Claude or the web app. Keep a food profile of likes, dislikes and allergies that your assistant reads before suggesting a meal. It knows your most-eaten foods, so "the usual" is one sentence. It can also read your Forkmate notifications, like a fix you reported. Getting started: connect, then sign in with a free Forkmate account (or create one; Google is one tap). The first time you log, Forkmate asks once for your OK to store your food diary. What makes it different: logging happens in the conversation you are already having, with no form to fill and no database to search. It is built for people who train, not only people dieting, and the tone stays encouraging rather than obsessive. Your data is yours. Every call is scoped to your authenticated account, writes only ever touch your own diary, you can see and disconnect connected AI apps in Settings, and export is free and self-serve. Forkmate stores food diary entries, which are health-related data, and the privacy policy says exactly what is kept and who processes it. Forkmate is free: complete history, unlimited entries, barcode scanning and chain-restaurant menus. No card, no trial, no paid plan.
